WHITE CLIFFS COUNTRY

 

Embraces a rich historical legacy. The fairytale castles of Dover, Deal & Walmer, the Roman House & the Bronze Age Boat in Dover.Nearby, the Roman Fort at Richborough & the ancient market town of Sandwich.

 

WHITSTABLE

 

The "Pearl of Kent", Whitstable is famous for its oysters & other seafood as well as a vibrant contemporary arts scene. The pretty weatherboard cottages, winding lanes & small fishing harbour, recall Whitstable's rich maritime history.

 

MEDWAY

 

Rich in heritge the Romans & Normans each left their mark and the area has a long seafaring tradition. Rochester Castle & Cathedral & the Chatham Historic Dockyard are witness to this. Charles Dickens also left his mark , as a son of Rochester, his books feature many places & buildings in Medway.
